So, here is a think I never had time even thinking about:

Name: HoverBaum
OS: Win 8.1
Problem: Laptop keeps heating like crazy. Even just loading some small gifs. It's a S540 ThinkPad I got in May. Possible reasons, things I could try to make it better?

Are you using wood under the laptop if so you should check the fan preference. If you use something ells then wood I'll recommend having wood underneath as it will take most of the heat from the computer. If not any of these work I'll recommend you opening the laptop and check if the fan is spinning. Or just go to a repair shop nearby.

How would I go about checking those preferences?

Aura isn't missing in action, Aura still comes once in a while to check his sections but no threads are ever posted so Aura can't do anything.
OP, how would I go about finding the location of a hosts file that doesn't show up in /drivers/etc and doesn't come up via the Windows Search ?
